The Elementary School Guidance Program includes the following classroom programs.
K-My Friends and me. My friends and me is an 8 week long social skills program designed to help students adjust to the social aspects of working in groups at school. Second step is also used. Second step is a violence prevention/social skills program.
1st-Duso. Duso stands for developing an understanding of self and others. Duso is an 8 week long social skills program which utilizes stories, and puppets to drive home the lessons. Second Steop is also used. Second step is a violence prevention/social skills program.
2nd-Second step. Second step is a violence prevention/social skills program.
3rd-5th grade-Life skills program/
The life skills program focuses on the topics of self -esteem, decision making, social skills, tobacco use prevention, social skills, and assertiveness. The program last for 8 weeks each year. Also in 3rd and 4th grade students have an anti-bully/social skills program called Steps to Respect.
