Congratulations go out to Coach Newell and 2011-12 Lady Chiefs on their 22-0 record to date and for winning the right to represent Section 7 in the NYSPHSAA Final Four.

2012-2013 School Budget Approved!
On May 15, 2012, the Saranac Central School District passed its $30,897,968 budget in a 324 to 79 vote. Additionally, the District approved a $313,779 proposition to purchase 3, 65 passenger buses by 332 to 62. An established bus reserve will be utilized to offset additional taxpayer costs beyond State aid reimbursement. Incumbent Board member, Amy Belair, running unopposed, received 285 votes to secure a five year term.
An exit survey was administered during the budget vote as a strategy to guide future budget plans. A summary of this information will be discussed at a future Board meeting and posted on the website.
The Board of Education wants to thank the residents for their support and pledges to continue to strive toward maintaining costs while delivering adequate programs and services for all students.
Saranac Community Supports EXCEL Project
On December 13, 2011, the voters of the Saranac Central School District approved a $5.6 million energy, health and safety capital improvement project.
The main project items include the following modifications: the installation of a mandated water filtration system for Saranac Elementary and Saranac Middle/High School; the replacement of fire-alarm and phone systems in all buildings; and upgrades to bathrooms and doorways in compliance with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). The project also contains roofing repairs at Morrisonville Elementary, the Middle School and the District bus garage; window and door replacements at Morrisonville and Saranac Elementary Schools and the Middle School; and repairs and upgrades to heating systems at Morrisonville and Saranac Elementary, as well as the Middle School and High School.
The project will be completed in two phases. The replacement of the District's telephone system and installation of a water filtration system is planned for completion this summer. The remaining project items are planned to begin in February 2013. The District will attempt to keep residents updated with the project construction schedule.
