Hello and welcome to the Saranac Central School District Health Office. We are the Registered Nurses in the District who will be taking part in the care of your children while they are in school.

A large majority of our responsibilities and actions are mandated by the New York State Education Department. First-Aid is provided based on the guidelines established by the American Red Cross.

  • We are dedicated to the health and well being of every child.
  • We assess injuries and provide treatment, within established guidelines.
  • We communicate appropriate information to teachers and/or parents.
  • We assist the school physician with physical examinations and follow-up with parents any existing or possible medical conditions.
  • We perform yearly vision and hearing screening for every student. Parents will be informed of any problems or possible conditions.
  • We work closely with Clinton County Health Department and New York State Department of Health in monitoring student immunization history.

To provide the best possible care, we need parents to assist us. Any health related information concerning your child might be helpful to provide the proper care that your child deserves.

Please contact the appropriate School Nurse for any questions or concerns.
